College kids have always needed jobs but never before more than now. With the price of an education still going up every year, a job is a basic necessity for many trying to pay their way through school. Even kids who might not have needed work in years past are now seeking employment just because the price of tuition is so outrageous.
However there are a few disadvantages as a medical assistant which might not be aware by many, as they have been superseded by its great and popular advantages which are widely known. For a fresh graduate from high school who wished to seek his career in the medical assistant field need to also consider these disadvantages and weigh them against its advantages to decide if this job is really suitable for one to pursue as a long term career.
Speak up
If your nose is always to the grindstone, the coup you pulled off, the money you made the company or your exceptional accounting finesse might slink by the boss’s attention and find itself a home in the wallpaper. Keep the boss up to date with the projects you are working on, and don’t be afraid to suggest new ideas. Meetings are a great chance to get noticed by the people at the top of the food chain, so speak up and show that you are valuable and enthusiastic.
Put your hand up
Volunteering to do extra work is a good way to register on your boss’s radar. Stay alert for opportunities that will allow you to show off your talents and show that you are able to go beyond the call of duty. If it’s a challenging task that others are afraid to take on, then so much the better. Don’t take on more than you can handle, but if you feel you can have a decent crack at it then you will be well respected in the boss’s eyes.
College students always have had pressure to get good grades and graduate with a degree. Today’s students are having to deal with that and the added pressure of finding employment that might ultimately be the difference between them continuing or having to drop out. Even if you are a student that is lucky enough to get a loan, you need to have some way to pay your additional expenses and to make payments on the loan.
